Associate vs full membership?

[edit]

The article doesn't explain the difference. --166.82.104.10 (talk) 21:15, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

New Zealand/Mexico

[edit]

Mercosur is a southamerican organisation, why are New Zealand and Mexico observer states? Are there special economy links between them and Southamerica? --2A02:908:C33:A180:FB1E:F2E8:DE72:9AD (talk) 14:20, 21 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

NZ's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said that they have no record of being in Mercosur to begin with in an Official Information request in May of 2024. 70.90.200.1 (talk) 02:02, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Map

[edit]

The map of Mercosur doesn't show Bolivia as a full member even though it became one in late 2023. Battlesheep1 (talk) 05:02, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That's because Bolivia is not a member yet. Mercosur completed their ratification, but Bolivia still needs to ratify. See: https://www.mre.gov.py/index.php/noticias-de-embajadas-y-consulados/brasil-deposita-protocolo-de-adhesion-de-bolivia-al-mercosur TDL (talk) 15:32, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Panama

[edit]

Panama is now an associated member of Mercosur and this article and map should be updated accordingly. https://www.riotimesonline.com/panama-joins-mercosur-as-an-associated-state/ Gus Meyer (talk) 22:18, 13 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
