I've written this mostly to put the context for moving the Loiseau suicide out of the Loiseau suicide. As I understand it, Gault Millau primarily challenged the Michelin guide for quality a few decades back (1970s ..) and for influence more in the 1980s and 1990s. Someone who knows this history should write more. Also about the rise of Nouvelle Cuisine to which Gault Millau is linked.
Ranking
[edit]Marc Veyrat received 20/20...
...for both his restaurants: Auberge de l'Eridan (currently La Maison de Marc Veyrat, open in the spring/summer/fall seasons) and La Ferme de mon Père (open in the winter season).
Changed countries
[edit]Made a change in the other countries examples: There is as yet no guide for the UK. There are guide for Austria and the Benelux. There is also a seperate guide for the Netherlands, but since this is also part of the benelux edition, I did not think in worthwhile to mention. -- mcdefize 2005-03-14
Adding some data to the "Differences with Michelin" section
[edit]I would like to add the following info to the "Differences with Michelin" section: " Roughly speaking 1* restaurants have an average score of 15,5. 2* restaurants have an average of 17,5 and 3* restaurants have an average score of 18,75 (the majority of Gault-Millau scored restaurants actually don't have any Michelin stars). However Michelin and Gault-Millau scores don't always show much agreement, 1* restaurants can score as low as 12 and as high as 18 on the Gault-Millau rating [1]. "
I got a message informing me that best practice is to discuss adding blogs as references on the talk page first. So here I am. The blog is my own, I just made it in order to have a way to publish my findings. I was hoping this info would be on here already but somehow it wasn't so I'm hoping the next curious soul can find it here instead of having to do the work all over again. I'm not planning on doing anything else with the blog, I don't care about it's search ranking or anything like that. I just want this info to be out there :)
If the way I've written the section is not according to standards/guidelines I don't mind rewriting it or having it rewriten by someone who's used to writing for wikipedia btw. De gussem martijn (talk) 15:57, 17 December 2024 (UTC)
